If you are in my Monday-Thursday 1:00 class, you will take the test Monday, December 9th in class.  If you are in my Tuesday-Thursday 10:00 class, here are your options:

1. Take the test with my Monday-Thursday class, which meets from 1:00-2:15 pm in Barbelin 40 (in the basement of Barbelin).

 
2. Take the test Friday (the 6th) at 3:00-5:00 pm.  If you choose this option, report to my office, Barbelin 229.  You may start the test anywhere from 3:00 to 4:00, and have 75 minutes to complete it.

 
3. If neither of these times works for you, and you wish to take the test, contact me by e-mail before 12:00 noon on Friday to schedule a makeup.

 
4. Do not take the test.  In this case you will have only two test grades, and your total midterm grade (out of 200 points) will be computed by the formula


2 x ( (2/3) x (higher of your two test grades)  +  (1/3) x (lower of your two test grades)  )

For example, if you scored a 66 on the first test and 81 on the second, your grade would be

2 x ( (2/3) x 81  +  (1/3) x 66  ) = 2 x ( 54 + 22 ) = 152

152 out of 200 gives you 76%.
Important.  If you choose this option you should stop by my office Tuesday morning or later to pick up a copy of the test, with solutions, to use as a study guide.
